Ouch! I Hit My Pinky Toe!
Yes, that hurt me. I had to sit down for a while to figure out what was going on. Because obviously, you’re not in your senses when you hit your pinky. And then I realized — today is Wednesday. That must be why it happened. Wednesdays are supposed to be frustrating. And if Wednesdays don’t do what’s assigned to them, they might lose their job!! No doubt this Wednesday has already checked off its weekly goal.
Let me ask you, do Wednesdays in your life ever go smoothly? Mine rarely do. Problems start right from the morning — if I wake up! It’s hard to get out of bed on Wednesdays because they don’t come with any motivational perks. Things like, “Come on, just one more day!” or “Wake up! Yesterday you had so much fun.” Nope! Instead, Wednesday whispers, “You left that pending yesterday,” “You still haven’t started this and you said tomorrow you will,” “You stopped meditating two weeks ago.” Urghh! Wednesdays seriously need a class on how to wake up people gently.
The rest of the day feels as long as a year. My toast tastes bland, biscuits drown in my tea before I get them to my mouth, and I misplace my belt, charger cable, safety pin — sometimes even my whole keyboard! Meanwhile, there’s a mountain of things waiting for the rest of the week, and the finish line feels sooo far away.
In the middle of exercising, I often leave midway in frustration because there are still THREE more days to get to a holiday. It’s like even my workout mood gives up by remembering it’s Wednesday.
I can’t even start a painting because it’s Wednesday. I want it to be Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday... what more are you expecting? I just don't want a Wednesday to start my painting or study a new chapter or start anything. Sorry, it’s not my fault — that’s just Wednesday’s vibe.
Don’t roll your eyes; I promise I’m not bragging about my endless to-do list. You know it yourself — Wednesdays can test anyone’s patience. Even as a kid, I disliked Wednesdays. I can’t recall exactly why, but I did. Maybe because my sweetest mom would iron a nice dress for me on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning — only for me to complain and not want to wear it. And I think we had a Math period at school on Wednesdays, which I didn’t like back then (funny enough, now I enjoy Maths!). Anyhow, Wednesdays have always felt… odd.
So, I’m starting this little space 'Wednesday Window' to spill out and declutter my mind here. See you in the next one! (Well, if I’m not too frustrated to open my computer and type!)
